After eight grueling years on the professional circuit, Robert Kendrick will make his first second round appearance in the US Open against Novak Djokovic today.
Kendrick, currently ranked 113 in the world, won three qualifying matches and then beat France’s Mahut in a tight four-setter to progress through the draw.
Kendrick’s focus will be on Djokovic when he’s on court, but off-court Kendrick has been using his reputation as a well-liked and hard working player to promote new clothing line, Athletic DNA.
Part owner in the company, Kendrick has been involved in the design, validation, and testing of the high performance apparel line. He’s also a featured model in the company’s marketing efforts.
Kendrick’s association with Athletic DNA has created quite a buzz amongst professional players. “The company’s unique business model gives sponsored athletes equity in the company,” Kendrick said. Athletic DNA has been overwhelmed with demand from players, agencies, and academies.
“I like that Athletic DNA recognizes all the guys out there like Ryler DeHeart and myself and so many others. It’s about hard work, determination, and spirit,” Kendrick said.
Athletic DNA’s high performance apparel is currently available to sponsored athletes only. It goes on sale soon through leading Academies and online at athleticdna.com.
