Over
his 25 year coaching career Brad has worked with some of the greatest tennis players
to ever play the game.
His early years as a coach were spent with the US National
Team, working specifically with the most promising junior, collegiate and
rookie professional players from the United States. He transitioned to the pro tour as Jim Courier’s
personal coach and over a 7 year period with Brad as a coach Jim became the #1
player in the world and won four Grand Slam titles. Brad has also worked with other professionals
including Mardy Fish, Taylor Dent, Sebestien Grosjean, Jonathan Stark and Andre
Medvedev. In addition to his
professional coaching career, Brad spent 3 years at the helm of the Fresno
State Tennis team and led them into the top 25 of the Division I NCAA rankings.
Brad was introduced to Tennis late in his childhood; though
his introduction to the game came at the age of 14 he made great progress through
his time as a junior. Through junior
college he continued to work hard and improve and he earned a full scholarship to
Fresno State University where he played his 2 final years of collegiate tennis. Following his graduation, Brad travelled to
play some satellite and challenger events on the ATP tour.
Brad currently runs the Stine 360 Tennis Academy based out
of Fresno. The academy boasts a full
live-in program as well as after-school and summer programs for local players. On court training focuses on a player’s
individual needs for match competition.
This focus carries over off the court as well, where mechanics,
strategic and the mental aspects of the game are topics of study and training.
Highlights of the ATP Tour / Players coached by
Brad Stine
1991-1994: Jim Courier
With Brad's involvement, Jim achieved the number 1 ranking in the world. He
participated in the finals of all four Grand Slam tournaments and won two
French Opens and two Australian Opens as well as numerous other ATP tour
titles.
1994-1995: Andre Medvedev
During Brad's involvement, Andre was ranked in the top ten in the world during
this period and won two tour titles.
1995-1997: Jonathan Stark
While working with Brad, Jonathan was the winner of the French Open doubles
title and the number one doubles player in the world. He won one of his two
tour titles in Singapore during their time together.
1997-2000: Jim Courier
In 1997 Jim asked Brad to return as his coach and they teamed again until Jim's
retirement in 2000. This period afforded Brad an opportunity to experience and
to be a part of the process of one of the game's truly great players dealing
with the end of his career.
2000-2002: Mardy Fish
While coaching Mardy, Brad assisted in moved Mardy's ranking from 365 to just
outside the top hundred in the world.
2002-2003: Taylor Dent
During Brad's time with Taylor, Taylor experienced his most successful year on
the ATP tour and achieved his highest career ranking up to that point.
2005-2007: Sebastien Grosjean
Brad coached Sebastien Grosjean; when he was ranked in the top 25
in the world on the ATP tour. Sebastien was also the current #1 ranked
men's player in France.
