Dumbbell Bench Press with Amer Delic
In a recent post, I had Amer demonstrate the standard pushup with the weight vest incorporated. Here we are hitting the "pushing" muscles again but using dumbbells.  Both are great exercises and should be placed in any strength program.  I like the db press because you are using "single" arms to move the weight.  If you want to build endurance, perform sets of 15 to 25 reps.  For strength aim for 4 to 12 reps.

Before Miami, Amer came to Amelia Island to work on his forehand and improve his fitness.  One of the areas I addressed in the gym was upper body strength.  I wanted to work on pure strength and this is why you are seeing Amer sporting a nifty, 25 pound weight vest.  I know he could most likely do about 20 pushups, but that would focus more on endurance, rather than strength.  This exercise can be done virtually anywhere and is very effective. I got my weight vest at Walmart, and I believe the sell them even at Target...go and get in the gym!
